As we headed for the Manila Cathedral this morning, the clouds momentarily broke their ranks to let in some light. The side streets were flooded from all the rain and from the Pasig that was almost overflowing its banks.

Inside, I remembered Sto Domingo, 26 years ago; remembered the long funeral procession we joined. I can still see some of their faces, the woman who was flailing her arms in grief, the grimness of the march, the hymns we sang, the flickering of despair and hope, the drenching and gathering of resolve.

This morning, it all came back. There beneath the cathedral arches and mournful memories, I found myself confessing, asking how we had all gone astray. So many have suffered and died for this country to be free. May their oblation, the shedding of their blood be not in vain.

Today, I saw graciousness in the midst of grief. Again multiplied many times over. So Filipino. I saw faith in the midst of death. So Filipino. Once more, I discovered love and compassion walking over the waters that have divided us. Nabanhaw nasad ang gugma sa nasud. Nabuhay na muli ang pagmamahal sa inang bayan.

Salamat Cory.

By your faith in God, you directed our gaze to the skies: even if clouds do not break ranks for days on end, they only merely eclipse the light. The light continues to shine. By your faith in the Filipino, you showed us how even intermittent drops of water, falling from the sky, can gather to a river of strength, spilling over.

May your life and your passing be not in vain. May true heroes come forward to lead our country. May we be sincere in discerning democracy and choosing those who will empower the voiceless to find their voice. May we become brave again to line up and be enlisted, to step up and be counted upon.

May today begin us once more, giving us enough hope and courage to make an oblation of our lives for God and our people, this country we have always loved and cherished.

Former Philippine President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino who swept away a dictator and sustained democracy by fighting off seven coup attempt in six years, died on saturday August 1, 2009 3:18am at the Makati Medical Center. She was 76 years old.

S5F2H4P_largeThe most powerful symbols are simple ones. As news of the popular Philippine movement to unseat the dictator Marcos swept through the global village in early 1986, one image outshone the others: a brave woman in a yellow dress. Cory Aquino. Up till now her image lingers brightly as a symbol of nonviolent democratic aspiration the world over.

July 30 , 2009 was a night to remember. The Rock the Vote Campaign came to Cagayan de Oro to spread the news to the youth to register in the comelec (legal age) for the upcoming elections May 2010. The Xavier University gym was jampacked with different students coming from different universities and colleges in the city, Capitol University, Liceo de Cagayan University, Mindanao University of Science and Technology, Lourdes College, Pilgrim Christian College, STI College, AMA Computer College and Xavier University. The night was full of entertainment. The crowd was serenaded by local bands such Tabularaza, K9, and Twin Chicken to name a few. Sandy David, Tj, Luke Mejares, Sponge Cola and Hale added more spice to the crowds excitement. And also some political leaders were also there to encourage the youth to register and vote, thats why Rock-the-Vote campaign was made.

What is a Journey? July 7, 2009

A journey is not a trip.

It’s not a vacation.

It’s a process. A discovery.

It’s a process of self-discovery.

A journey brings us face to face with ourselves.

A journey shows us not only the world, but how we fit in it.

Does the person create the journey or does the journey create the person?

The journey is life itself.

Where will life take you?

Gaano ba Katibay ang Condom? July 5, 2009

This is just a test drive on how strong a condom could be. Some people questioned some condoms because some of them breaks during the intercourse session and that would result on to many risks related diseases and the worst, making the female pregnant (weee mommy!) on the wrong time.

On these photos, you will see the guy on a black shirt inserted the condom on the barrel of the pellet gun. In this test, we will testify if condoms are well made or not after he will strike the pellet gun through the condom.

20090705_condom_03 Fire!

20090705_condom_04 The Result? the bullet failed to penetrate the condom! WoW!

by the way, the condom used here is Premiere Dotted and this is not a paid blog. This just shows that condoms are well made. Just buy the trusted condoms in the market.

preview cover

One of the most anticipated issues of Preview comes every year in July when the fashion glossy releases its annual Best-Dressed List. Gracing the cover in 2009 is the movie industry’s best-kept fashion secret, Maricel Soriano, who’s been known in inner circles for her impeccable taste. The select pieces she brought to the shoot—a Balenciaga dress, Pierre Hardy peeptoes, Christian Louboutin pumps—already spoke volumes about why she certainly deserves to be on that list.
